Dear Gentleperson (s):

We are our Brothers KeeperI appreciate the opportunity to share with you the history of a “grass root” organization “We Are Our Brother’s Keeper,” established in November 2005.  “We Are Our Brother’s Keeper,” is a non-profit  501 (c)(3) organization. We have centered our focus on the Greater Los Angeles Area, in particular the downtown area, commonly referred to as “Skid Row.”  Our organization was founded on the principles of taking action against homelessness with a profound commitment and a willingness to serve.

1We are currently seeking funding, sponsorships, contributions and the support of all humanity to assist with bringing attention and change to the unfortunate homeless plight. Far too many citizens are subjected to unhealthy, unsafe, and inhumane “street living” nationwide. There are an excess of 60,000 men, women and children privy to a lifestyle of homelessness, in the downtown Los Angeles area.

Helping Los Angeles“We Are Our Brother’s Keeper” annually distributes BACKPACKS to our homeless communities.  The BACKPACKS serve as a viable resource, an amenity homeless people can utilize and certainly appreciate. We fill BACKPACKS with items such as water, “pop-up” can goods, scarves , hats, gloves, soup, juice, hygiene products, blankets, and other commodities useful for unfortunate homeless living. More importantly, we fill our BACKPACKS with a whole lot of love.

Our goal is to distribute greater than 5000 BACKPACKS for the year 2021!  We recognize the growing numbers of homelessness with our economy and the challenging hardships we are up against. We critically need financial contributions and products for the BACKPACKS.  “We Are Our Brother’s Keeper”  hope you share the vision. We are seeking your support.

Graciously,

Tamara G. Lewis
