With BackBridge Outreach we distributed 1000’s of BACKPACKS to HOMELESS living under freeway underpasses in encampments, Railroad Crossings, and throughout the COUNTY of Los Angeles

Partnered with Reseda High School 2018  Football Team, Probation Officer Dwayne Garner & Staff Members. First year LAUSD sponsored transportation for students to engage in charity event for the homeless on SKID ROW

2018 – Second Baptist Church -Pastor William Epps (site where speeches of Martin Luther King took place) the Usher’s at Second Baptist donated 250 BACKPACKS! Their coordinator -Deena was given “Rookie of The Year” Award

Here’s a great story for the Holiday Season on giving. A Local woman gives 5000 Backpacks filled with food and necessities to the homeless in LA’s Downtown Skid Row Area.



Saturday, December 17th

WHAT:
 We Are Our Brothers Keeper Homeless Project — For the past nine years Tamara G. Lewis has been on a mission to fight the homeless plight in Downtown Los Angeles. In her 1st year in 2005 she started with only a few family members and volunteers to help her hand out a hundred Backpacks filled with food. This year the Culver City resident using money from her own pocket and donations to purchase 5,000 Backpacks. She has gotten various organizations and hundreds of volunteers to help her fill them with food and necessities. On Saturday December 17 the 5,000 Backpacks will be handed out to the homeless at the Rescue Mission in Downtown Los Angeles. Ms. Lewis is providing a bus to help transport volunteers and Backpacks. The group will depart Leimert Park’s Vision Theatre at 12 noon and are scheduled to arrive at the Union Rescue Mission downtown 1/2 hour later. The address for the Union Rescue Mission 545 So. San Pedro L.A. 90013.. Backpacks will be handed out in the parking lot in the rear of building at 5th and San Julian Street. When the volunteers return they will be served food Ms. Lewis personally cooked.

• People arriving to go help give to the homeless.
• 5,000 Backpacks being handing out to the homeless by little kids, teenagers, college students, career professionals and elderly from all ethnic backgrounds.
